National Joint Stock Insurance Company «Oranta» can safely claim the title of «watchdog» of the insurance market in Ukraine. After all, its history begins as early as November 25, 1921, when the institution was called Ukrgosstrakh. NASK «Oranta» became its legal successor, with the exception of obligations under long-term insurance contracts of the former State Insurance.

In 1993, Ukrgosstrakh was reorganized into an open joint-stock company NASK «Oranta», the founder of which on the part of the state was the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

Since 2007, after the Fund sold its last stake in the shareholding, the company became private, which had a positive effect on the overall activity - the structure of assets, solvency, and the offer of insurance products improved.

In 2017, according to the results of the rating agency IBI-Rating, the financial stability of Oranta was recognized as excellent at the level of UaAA-Ifr.
